Siena, with the Duomo di Siena and the Torre del Mangia in the background.The couple already knew the Piazza del Campo, the main square of Siena, so they preferred to have their photos taken amidst the Tuscan hills.


There are many rural holiday centres in Tuscany, and we stopped at the beautiful La Gavina, situated in Monteriggioni in the province of Siena, where the newlyweds spent the night.


A good Tuscan wine, typical Tuscan bread, cheese, broad beans and artichokes from the kitchen garden …


In their room, which was originally a barn complete with manger, there’s the most wonderful light.

And a sunbeam takes us inside… And we can hear only the sound of the bees buzzing as they travel.
